Couples work
If you’re not seeing eye-to-eye with your partner, join the club. Conflict in any relationship is simply a sign that you are indeed in a relationship! Everyone has their own tendencies, sensitivities, and blind spots, which become more evident in our closest relationships. Often, partnerships that once felt effortless can become challenging or lonely without us even realizing it, and this can be distressing.
Couples therapy can also feel intimidating if you’re new to therapy altogether, or on the fence about it. Even if you’re aware that something needs to change. Starting here, Ethan works to build in both partners enough safety to slow down, open up, and actually listen to one another.
Utilizing his experience in attachment-based modalities EFT and AEDP, Ethan offers couples work for a variety of circumstances, including premarital counseling for the months leading up to a wedding, traditional therapy for couples facing stressful life changes or disconnection, or discernment sessions for couples contemplating separation/divorce.
Couples therapy, when successful, provides a way for couples to begin turning towards one another again for support and understanding—it allows couples to explore new strategies for navigating conflict, fostering acceptance, and enhancing emotional connection.
